not gonna lie, I thought this was gonna be a compilation of Sloss swearing and I was quite excited, but then it wasn't and I was not disappointed

I love that no matter how many videos/specials I watch of him, he barely (if EVER) repeats a joke. That is still so refreshing, and I adore him for it.

I dunno, I've heard the "My mum will always talk about the day she was blessed with me, gifted my sister, had my brother, and was diagnosed with the other one" skit and the "I was born in England, but I consider myself fully Scottish because my mum's an alcoholic and my dad's clinically obese" skit repeated in several different venues. Watch enough of any comedian and you'll hear their jokers repeated at least once. Sloss, as great as he is and as much as he deserves more coverage, just doesn't have as many specials and filmed stand-up gigs circulating the internet for it to be as noticeable as other comedians that spring to mind.
It's always fun when a comedian makes me laugh and hurts my feelings simultaneously.
Daniel Sloss is brilliant. As a first generation (embarrassed) American, he's spot-on about the USA. But, Eastern Europeans are pretty good at swearing too, as are the French. I highly recommend his book!
Even us swedes are good at swearing and we're usually considered as "polite", "well spoken" and "reserved"

I like that he clarified "twat." I've been confused by Americans saying it weird, with a long A that Americans are usually opposed to, and this was helpful.

Yeah, I’m Irish Australian. But sometimes you just forget that you are even swearing. You’re not trying to swear, you’re not angry, it’s just part of your language. Sometimes there isn’t any better descriptive or emotive word to fit in there. Somebody could say to me stop swearing and I would probably take a while to figure out when i did because it’s basically automatic and subconscious

Finally someone teaching Americans how to pronounce 'TWAT' correctly. Don't know why, but hearing them constantly mispronounce 'twat' as 'twot' has always grated on my nerves.

@@nickpagano7134 I've heard an English person say methane, and I tense up almost as much as someone would tense up hearing twat mispronounced.
Twot sounds better tho. Twat just doesnt sound like a bad word twot on the other hand sounds much more vulgar. Also the word twat regardless of pronunciation is a pretty uncommon insult in usa. Its usually used to actually refer to a pussy opposed to calling someone a twat.
@@LokkerG we created the language we are English from England speaking the English language... we prouncounce words as they are meant to be said in this language... the Americans only adopted it because bless the yanks but they couldn't come up with one on their own it's like with wars they've never won a war in their own before

How does EVERY joke make me laugh, he never misses once, I might not laugh at a few jokes with other comedians but every joke he makes at least makes me laugh a bit.

Sloss has been one of my favorite comedians for a long time. This just helps to cement that further

i saw this yesterday in Melbourne and was in actual tears. the whole show was just amazing.
The only thing is that I was laughing so hard that I was struggling to breathe and catch my breath properly. in this climate....coughing is possibly the worst thing you can do, but I just opted for chest pain instead.

I'm very happy that we Australians were mentioned in this, swearing is normal here, it's kinda scene as weird if you don't swear.
If you watch it with automatically generated subtitles, it adds another layer to the comedy by censoring swear words.

I have seen Daniel's videos I think 3 years ago and I haven't seen him since and it was so surprising how strong his Scottish accent got with time. I could barely notice it in his old videos.

@@messinalyle4030 I am aware. I am hard of hearing so I can hear him still talking when the "subtitles" drop off for 10 seconds at a time and at the peak of the jokes. Good times.

I'll start saying twat correctly... I feel like there is a growing group of people who swear and understand it's just language flavoring to keep the conversation lively and not something to be offended by. Or, I've surround myself with the correct people.
They're just fucking words. I haven't met anyone worth hanging around with that gets offended by words.
I feel like age and region has to do with it. I’m from New England and maybe this is regional bias, but I feel like we swear more than other Americans? I only know a few people who don’t tolerate swears, all over the age of 50. I don’t know anyone younger who’d be put off by a swear, with the exception of cunt. I know a few people who hate that word, but I think that just makes them cunts.
I wonder how many of the people who complain about "political correctness" happen to get upset at swear words.
Funny, I was born in Scotland but grew up in Canada and we were allowed to swear at the dinner table. It was just an adjective to emphasis something. Also, I learned the word cunt from my mom and shite was one of my first words, ha!
As a Hungarian, who lives in the UK I am proud to say, that we beat all English speaking nations in swearing, simply because of all the slight variatons of words and the sheer amount of swear words we use in a daily basis. 🤣 It took me a bit of a time after I moved to the UK, to sewer less, because it offended even the English ppl around me. 😳😅🤣 In a normal sentence, every second word can be a swear word in Hungarian lol😅
Its all the Germanic roots that make all the difference.

An International Study have settled that Italian has more than double different Swearwords than the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th languages combined. I find it so funny when English try to swear, cause my English is shait but my Italian is really good and i can tell you that not just that sentence is so true, but that you guys are missing a lot of fun :)

As much as I agree with him, largely, the East Coast accents do exist and, from experience, roughly 1 of 4 words out of their mouths are swears. Many of which are just a down right impressive stream of invective.
I wonder if that’s because a higher population of the east coast would be more likely to be migrants or descendants of people from Scotland England Ireland and Wales.
